On Your Skin

How It Feels

Color

Light dusty pink

Pink kaolin, rose petal and rosehip - no dyes. Deepens when you mix it.

Scent

Earthy, not floral

Ground root and clay, not perfume. We didn't add fragrance to cover it.

Texture

Smooth, fine powder

Finely milled - no grit. Mixes to an even paste in a few drops.

Afterfeel

Clean and fresh, never tight

Clean without feeling stripped. Fresh, with a visible glow.

Ayurvedic Heritage

The Botanicals That Matter

Dried Rosa damascena rose petals - Ayurvedic skincare ingredient that soothes and restores

Rose

Rosa Centifolia

Rose in two forms - finely milled petal powder and rosehip. Varnya is Ayurveda's classical designation for the complexion botanicals, and rose has held it for centuries. Both are ground, so they colour the powder rather than sitting in it a

Ashwagandha root (Withania somnifera) - the Ayurvedic adaptogen that calms stressed skin

Ashwagandha

Withania Somnifera

Rasayana - the rejuvenative root, named among the strength-giving botanicals of the Charaka Samhita. It is also why this mask smells earthy rather than floral: ground root is a far stronger scent than a dried petal.

Finely milled colloidal oatmeal, a soft pale-cream powder

Colloidal Oatmeal

Avena Sativa

Finely milled oat - It is part of why this mask refines without leaving skin tight: the clay polishes, and the oat, coconut milk and honey soften.

Details

How to Use
  1. Measure 1 tsp into a small non-metal bowl.
  2. Mix with water, rose water or milk, a few drops at a time, into a smooth paste. Water is the simplest - and the gentlest if your skin is reactive. Rose water is the one that makes it smell of rose. Milk makes it richer, the classical Ubtan way.
  3. Apply an even layer to clean skin. Avoid the eye area.
  4. Leave 8–10 minutes.
  5. Remove while still moist - don't let it dry fully. Soften with wet hands, then rinse with warm water. Never peel it off dry.
  6. Follow with Rose & Ashwagandha Face Cream.

1–2× weekly. Dry or sensitive skin: once a week, 8 minutes.

Mix only what you'll use, and discard anything left over. The powder keeps because it's dry - once liquid is added, there's nothing preserving it.

A note on the scent: it smells earthy, not floral. That surprises people - you'd expect roses from the name. It smells like what it is: ground root, clay and petal, with nothing added to cover it. If you'd like the rose in the scent too, mix it with rose water rather than plain water.

Best For
  • Dry and normal skin — the skin types on the pouch
  • Dull, tired skin that wants a visible freshen-up
  • Anyone who'd rather mix something than open a jar
  • Pregnancy — there are no essential oils in it

Oily or congested skin — our Neem & Tulsi Face Scrub is the clarifying one.
